Fantasy Idol Week 3 results, Week 4 challenge

A pretty fun pair of audition shows this week, though I’m sure you’re now as ready as I am to trade the current contrivance for the next: the end of autistic parade for the start of the manufactured drama of Hollywood week.

Week 3 Results

If Joe Jonas lived in 1900s England, a doctor would have pronounced him an “imbicile” and committed him. Seriously that kid has a mouse chewing a ball of twine in his head. Great smile, though.

Congratulations to the Sizzling Singing Sussmans (represented by Jeff) for getting closest to the number of winners in Dallas - their guess of 28 was only off by 3 from the total of 31. Becky, Jim, and Katie also came within 5, earning themselves 4 points apiece.

It seems both of the true/false questions were red herrings - I did not hear “dreadful” from Simon, nor did I see a cowboy outfit (let alone a cowboy hat!) in the Dallas auditions. If I missed something please let me know and corrections will be made.

Week 4 Challenge

This week’s challenge applies only to tomorrow’s audition show in Denver. Wednesday’s show is “the road to Hollywood” and will probably contain a lot of recycled footage.

  1. True / False: Kara will say “genuine.”
  2. Guess “No” or “Yes” - What kind of audition will be shown more? “No” you’re not going or “Yes” you’re going to Hollywood, dogg?

Other Business

Current standings are in the right sidebar.

Please don’t forget to send a picture (and team name if you choose) by the end of the Hollywood shows. At that point you will choose Idols for your team and I’d like to post your pics along with your rosters. Your picture certainly doesn’t have to be of yourself, it can just be something fun!

Week 2 Results

Last week’s challenge was to predict whether the first audition would be a Yes or a No. The first auditioner in Chicago, Katelyn Epperly, got 4 yeses - I think we’ll be seeing more of her. In Orlando, the sparkly-eyed Theo Glinton got a resouding “dreadful.” Congrats to all who guessed both correctly: Becky, Dale, Jeff, Kelly, and Tony!

Remember in Week 1 you were asked to predict whether Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come” would be used in an audition… looks like that question came a week too early! video

So far all of the questions have been worth 1 point. As the contest progresses, the stakes will get higher and you will even have a chance to wager some of your earned points on future challenges.

Here are the standings so far.

Becky 3 Dale 3 Jeff 3 Kristen 3 Tony 3 Alex 2 Andrea 2 Katie 2 Kelly 2 Jenny 1 Jim 1 Sarah 1 Shawna 0

If you haven’t yet, please send an image to represent your team and a name if you want to use one.

Week 3 Challenge

Remember, both of these questions apply to Wednesday night’s Dallas auditions show. Please send your answers before the show airs tomorrow.

  1. Will Simon say “dreadful?” (1pt)
  2. Will a contestant be shown auditioning dressed as a cowboy / cowgirl? Full audition, not just in a montage. (1pt)
  3. Predict the number of contestants sent to Hollywood from Dallas. Exact guess wins 5 points, off by 5 or less gets 4 points, 10 or less 3 points, etc

Fantasy Idol Week 1 results, Week 2 challenge

Week 1 Results:

The challenges for week one were to predict which city would send more contestants to Hollywood, and to guess whether “A Change is Gonna Come” would be one of the songs used in an audition.

Counter to your collective intuition, Boston sent a few more to Hollywood than Atlanta (only Jim, Katie, and Kristen guessed right.) Most of you, however, correctly guessed that Sam Cooke’s hit would not be used. Special congrats to Katie and Kristen for getting both questions right.

Week 2 Challenge:

  1. Will the first audition shown in Chicago be a YES or a NO?
  2. Will the first audition shown in Orlando be a YES or a NO?

Please send your answers before Tuesday’s show airs.

Other:

Please email a small image that I can place next to your name. Also, if you’d like to add a “team name,” let me know.
